Pepper’s Party Night – A disco paradise!

They came, they saw, they boogied!  Ashlyns school hall was transformed into a disco dancer’s paradise!  130 funksters turned up to party and boogie on down at the Pepper Party Night on a cold Saturday night in February.

Some marvellous authentic 70’s outfits lived to see another day and strut their stuff and boy did they look good!  The guys even looked better than the gals – it was the big hair and fake moustaches that did it!

Jonathan Tweed opened the evening by thanking everyone for attending and supporting the charity then the brilliant ‘Planet Funk’ hit the boards.

The dance floor was full from the moment the band started playing and stayed that way for the whole night.  The only respite was when the stupendous ploughman’s suppers were served – mouth-watering home made knot rolls, a selection of the finest cheeses, pickles, onions and tomatoes to tempt the taste buds, all topped off with a fluffy angel cake with fresh cream and jam…..mmmmmmmmmm!

The prize draw raised an amazing £512 and our 4 lucky prize winners won dinner for 2 at The Gatsby, a spa evening for 2 at Champneys, a magnum of champagne and a £20 Waitrose voucher.

Overall the event raised £1172 for Pepper, which was a great achievement.  Our thanks to the event organisers, Mary Kennedy and Karen Buchanan, for organising and staging a great night out.
