Amersham Townswomen's Guild support Pepper

Last November the Amersham Townswomen’s Guild chose Pepper as their charity for the forthcoming year and eleven months later, Jonathan Tweed, Chairman of The Pepper Foundation, was delighted to accept a cheque for £1700 recently, presented to him by the Guild’s Chairman, Anne Jones.

This represented the culmination of a year’s fundraising on behalf of Pepper as a result of money being raised by many and varied activities, including a stall in Amersham market, a Strawberry Tea and several coffee mornings. To add to the splendid donation, a further £270 was raised for Pepper and Iain Rennie from the sale of Christmas cards and goodies – and a further £10 to Pepper by the ladies saying ‘keep the change’.

Perhaps the picture needs a bit of explanation – Anne doesn’t usually wear her bra over her jumper. This meeting was held during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the whole of the Townswomen’s Guild was ‘in the pink’ that evening, even Jonathan sported a token pink sock! So, in addition to their tremendous support for Pepper, a substantial amount was raised on the evening for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Our sincere thanks are extended to the Amersham Town’s Women’s Guild for their continued support for Pepper over the year and for their fantastic fundraising achievements. Thank you, ladies. We look forward to keeping in touch.
