Pepper Barn Dance
Yeeee–haaa!! There’s nothing more guaranteed to put a smile on every face and get the most determined non-dancers on the floor than a Barn Dance. Pepper’s second country hop was no exception. It wasn’t long before first timers were dosy-doeing and right hand starring with complete confidence, alongside the old hands. Almost a hundred hoe-downers turned out to enliven a chilly November Saturday evening at Northchurch Social Centre.
‘Knit Your Own Yoghurt’ a first rate five piece band provided the music, with caller John Booth. And long time Pepper supporter Neil (Mac) Mackay’s cross over folk group ‘Free and Easy’ performed a superb supper time cabaret spot. The hall was liberally decorated with foliage and the chequered table-clothes also added to the real ‘country’ feel.
All too soon it was time for the last dance. But not before £850 had been added to Pepper coffers. Thanks to all of the team who organised the event, showing yet again how Pepper puts the ‘fun’ into fundraising, with particular thanks to Moira and Roy Massingale. 27th August 2009 Recent News |
