Aylesbury Dolls House Club Charity Exhibition
Val Barrow, Barbara Hastings & friends from Aylesbury Dolls House Club held a very successful exhibition in aid of The Pepper Foundation on Saturday April 18th at Wilstone Village Hall.
The display of Club members’ work included Minivale, a miniature village hall containing its own dolls house exhibition, which naturally had a tiny table with a miniature Minivale! Another joint project, which attracted attention and praise, was ‘The Last Resort’, a retirement home on three floors complete with a suitably paved garden.
A central display of 1/12th and 1/24th scale houses and room boxes was flanked by the stalls of several high-quality traders including Robert Longstaff, HiJinx tapestries, Tom Burchmore, Marie Henley and Page Components. As well as The Pepper Foundation’s own tombola, Club members manned sales tables, a raffle and tombola, with miniature prizes suitable for use in scale models. More members provided refreshments throughout the day.
Jonathan Tweed was delighted to attend a cheque presentation to receive a donation of £1,066.70 from the group and in addition to this Pepper raised another £125 from their own tombola stall.Aylesbury Dolls House Club currently has space for new members. If you are interested in miniatures, and would like to know more about the Club, please ring Sheila on 01296 622821. 14th July 2009
