Eastwoods Pepper Golf Day - A hole in one

The 12th Annual Eastwoods Pepper Golf Day organised by Janet Edwards and Pepper Patron, Joe Collier held on 5th August at the Ashridge Golf Club was another great success!  We were amazed by the level of support from sponsors and prize donations. With an extra competition running for the golfers, a Silent Auction, a raffle, Heads and Tails games and some great auction prizes. Nigel Barden was once again in charge of the charity auction and provided much hilarity

23 teams enjoyed a bacon breakfast before a shot-gun start followed by a 4 course lunch before the prize-giving and auction. The winners this year were The Noblemen Golf Society, Kate Evans took the Best Ladies Prize and Greg Edwards took the Mens. We also had our youngest player ever, 8 year old Luke Wrathall.  Players included footballers Luther Blisset, (ex Watford FC), Paul Jones (ex Southampton ) and Don Walcott, who donated a signed Arsenal shirt and photo of his famous son, Theo.

Pepper Nurse, Sonya O' Leary gave a talk about the work of the nursing team, Janet Edwards said: “We were so privileged to hear about the work of the Pepper nurses given by Sonya and we estimate that we have raised in excess of £15,250 !”

One event takes 4 months of preparation and Janet and Joe worked tirelessly to arrange the day our sincere thanks goes to them and the rest of the team behind a fantastic fundraising event!
