Pepper Patron's Fantastic Fundraising!
Joe Collier , the Berkhamsted based butcher who runs Eastwoods Butchers, is also known locally as an energetic and committed patron to The Pepper Foundation which funds the Iain Rennie Pepper paediatric nursing team . This year, Joe – with his select band of event helpers – has raised in excess of £25,000 for the Pepper Children's Nurses.
The annual Eastwoods Pepper Golf Day, held at Ashridge Golf Club in August, and organised jointly by Janet Edwards with Joe, raised a spectacular £19,275. The recent Eastwood's Foodie Extravaganza, held at Centenary Theatre in the town, was attended by Joe's invited celebrity guests Silvena Rowe, Nigel Barden, Jimmy Doherty, Paul Kelly and Aida Poppleston and raised an additional £6,500 for the Foundation. Karen Buchanan and Tony Hill from Pepper were delighted to receive the whopping golf day donation cheque from Janet and Joe at the Watford FC training ground in the presence of Malky Mackay, Don Walcott, Nigel Winterburn and some of the Watford 's first team players.
Chairman of the board of Trustees, Tony Hill said “Once again Joe has raised an incredible amount of money for Pepper. With nursing costs at £130 per day, this will make a real difference to some very poorly local children and their families. We are very fortunate to have Joe as one of our Patrons".
