Charter Mark Award For The Iain Rennie Hospice At Home

The Iain Rennie Hospice At Home has won a coveted Charter Mark award in recognition of its commitment to excellence in the provision of specialist nursing care for patients who wish to remain at home during the final stages of a terminal illness. The notification from the Cabinet Office's Charter Mark & Beacon Unit arrived on 3rd December and has delighted staff and volunteers working from the Hospice At Home's two bases at Tring and Chalfont St Giles. It comes after many months of preparation by the Hospice At Home and a detailed assessment visit from a Charter Mark Assessor in early October.
In their letter to the Hospice At Home confirming the award of a Charter Mark, the Independent Judging Panel stated that it was "satisfied that you provide an exceptionally high quality of service for your users".
Iain Rennie's Chief Executive, Rowena Dean, said "Everyone at Iain Rennie is feeling so proud of this achievement. We have received a very positive feedback report which praises the organisation for its openness as well as the enthusiasm and commitment of our staff and volunteers."

To win a Charter Mark, the Iain Rennie Hospice At Home had to demonstrate that it meets 10 criteria: setting standards of service; being open and providing full information; consulting and involving; encouraging access and promoting choice; treating all fairly; putting things right when they go wrong; using resources effectively; innovating and improving; working with other providers; and achieving user satisfaction.
