Working across the entire area, The Iain Rennie Pepper Paediatric Team
cared for 38 chronically ill children and their families last year.
Many had rare and complicated genetic diseases.
18 were under 4 and 12 between 5 & 11 years.
Of the 7 who died, 6 were at home.

We are extremely grateful to the two organisations which fund our paediatric nursing team. Four paediatric "Pepper" Nurses and our Family Support Co-ordinator are funded by the Berkhamsted-based Pepper Foundation and one paediatric post is funded by BBC Children In Need. In conjunction with other organisations, the Pepper Team have arranged two holidays and a 'Christmas Day in June' for very sick children and their families.
