The 8th Tring Midsummer Fun Run held on Wednesday 18th June was attended by crowds of people at the Tring Park Cricket Club with a record 701 runners taking part in this year's event! There was a wide mix of children and adults of all ages taking part from schools across the Tring and surrounding area. There were 6 race categories ranging from U7's to Seniors with the U7's running a 500m lap on the club grounds and the Seniors running a 6Km circuit around Tring. Local premiership football referee, Graham Poll started each race and handed out medals to the winners along with Mike James, the Mayor of Tring and of course Rennie Bear who cheered the children on! Despite the windy weather the runners were undeterred and the day was a huge success thoroughly enjoyed by all! Many thanks to everyone who helped to make this event a success particularly the IRHH volunteers who managed to control the enormous queues of people waiting to register on the night – well done! |
There was also an Inter-School and Inter-House Tring School competition held the results of which will be announced shortly, in the mean time you can view a complete list of race winners on the Tring Running Club website.
If you have been inspired to follow in the footsteps of the fun runners there are still spaces left on the British 10K London Run which will be held on the 6th July 2008. If you are interested in joining the IRHH Team call the Fundraising Team on 01442 890222 or email fundraising@irhh.org.
