I'm Jamie Chapman from Berkhamsted and I've chosen to run for a local charity. It has been a personal ambition of mine to run a marathon and to raise money for a charity is an added incentive to do well. Since moving to Berkhamsted in the last year I heard about IRHH, a worthwhile commendable charity that affords people at the end of their life dignity and freedom. I am delighted to be able to run for and raise money for IRHH.
I have played a number of sports over the years and in particular rugby. But over the last couple of years I have only played on a handful of occasions and am ill at ease without the release of physical exercise during my week. The London Marathon is therefore a great incentive to running on a regular basis and is also a great way for me to get to know the Chiltern Hills and surrounding area.
I have always aimed to run a marathon sometime in my life and
look forward to the challenge. I want to make a worthwhile contribution
to the IRHH and hope that along with other people running on their behalf
a generous sum of money can be raised. I hope that this is the first of
many marathons for me.
