A group of cyclists from Coleshill village formed part of a team which cycled from Paris to Rome. Tony Barber (who celebrated his 61st birthday en route), Mike Smith (38), David Codling (51) and organiser Steve McGuinness (48) left the Red Lion at Coleshill on Wednesday 22nd May to rendezvous just south of Paris to commence their 1000 mile journey the following day, arriving in Rome on Saturday 1st June.

Landlord of The Red Lion, John Ullman, travelled with the support team in two backup vehicles. Their efforts have raised over £20,000.
