Mrs Shah gives Nurses much needed fax

Working with IRHH provides the opportunity to meet a lot of very special people.

They help in many different ways and everyone at IRHH can, at times, be overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness and generosity.

Mrs Shah of the Bell Chemist in Princes Risborough and her late husband have been long standing supporters of IRHH and when Mr Shah died very suddenly she asked the nurses what she could provide that would help them. At the time they had a need for a new fax machine and without hesitation Mrs Shah presented them with one.

Mrs Shah is a very warm and welcoming lady who displays a plaque in the shop inscribed with sayings attributed to Mahatma Ghandi about service and customer relations. She said that she was keen to help the nurses in any way she could – “When we are working in the shop we see the nurses rushing around, out of hours, trying to help their patients get the medicines that they need. It is such a worthy cause.”

Whilst he was alive Mr Shah was active in trying to find ways to speed up and streamline the way in which medicines are made available out of hours for patients who are being cared for in their own homes.

He was well loved in the community and there is a bench, just outside the chemist shop, given to the community in his memory.
