ITV's This Morning's Christmas Appeal to Highlight Hospices
|
If you have ever felt that you would like to know more about the hospice movement in general, you have the chance to find out by watching ITV's This Morning.
Filming has taken place at two adult and three children's hospices and includes interviews with patients and carers. There will also be celebrity interviews. This Morning hopes to illustrate the wide range of services that hospices provide.
Viewers to the programme will be able to enter a series of competitions and they will be invited to donate on the telephone or by going into any branch of Abbey, who will be adding 5p to every £1 donated, up to £10,000. The donations will be divided equally between the Association of Children's Hospices (ACH) and Help the Hospices. ACH will then distribute the funds to its members to pay for nursing staff and Help the Hospices will make the money available to hospices through its professional development grants programme which supports training of hospice staff.
Because IRHH operates four adult and one childrens' nursing teams, all of our nurses are highly qualified and we run an ongoing programme of training, it may be possible for us to apply for grants and benefit from this appeal.
This Morning is on ITV, Monday to Fridays from 10.30 to 12.25 and the Christmas Appeal, ‘Help a Hospice' will run from Monday 20th November to Friday 15th December.
