Running in the Big Apple for IRHH

On 5th November 2006 , three brave people took on the ING New York Marathon and raised money for IRHH.

Rosemary Priest, who had recently retired from Marks & Spencer in High Wycombe celebrated her retirement by running the marathon. She enjoyed the experience but was overwhelmed by how busy New York was. Well done Rosemary!

Judy Saunders has run two London Marathons in the past and decided the run the New York Marathon this year as it fell on her 50 th Birthday – what a way to celebrate!

Our third runner, Simon Ashley, said, “ New York was great and the run was very good but very painful as I had a problem with cramp after about 17 miles which was reflected in my time. At the end of the day I was just glad to finish it so the time was not so important. At the current count, it looks like I will have raised in excess of £650.”

Congratulations and thanks to our New York runners!
