You may remember we recently featured a piece on Steve Baskerville who took part in a 100 mile cycle ride along The Great Wall of China, raising sponsorship money for IRHH.
He set off on his bike ride on 5 th October and returned on 9th October and began fundraising literally days before he went, raising £957 by the time he got home. Steve describes his experience, “Cycling in Beijing , it's like nothing on Earth – absolute chaos!”
Steve and his colleague Sharon Pearman, who had been assisting Steve by helping to organise the sponsorship side of things, popped into the IRHH Tring office on 24 October to announce that the fundraising hadn't stopped and Steve's total had reached a staggering £2,850. The sponsors just kept coming in!
“The support from people has been absolutely amazing. I think because it's so stupid. This was just one heck of an experience. I would love to do something even madder.”
Thanks again to Steve for his fundraising efforts and to Sharon for assisting him. To visits Steve's fundraising website please go to www.justgiving.com/stevebaskerville
