High Wycombe and Amersham Fundraisers are recognised with award

Christine and Richard Nisbet, who celebrate 20 years with the IRHH High Wycombe and Amersham Fundraising Group in 2007, were delighted to receive an award from the Chairman of Wycombe District Council (WDC), Councillor Jean Teesdale, at the Council's annual reception held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Marlow, on Thursday 29th March. The award recognised the continuing and generous contribution they have made to the community.

Local people were invited to nominate residents of the High Wycombe area who they felt had devoted precious time and effort towards supporting and developing their local community. Christine and Richard have raised money for the Iain Rennie Hospice and also "The Hub" at the Union Baptist Church and have tirelessly volunteered with local Tylers Green events. They  were both surprised and delighted to be singled out for recognition of their significant involvement and were presented with an inscribed crystal trophy by the Chairman.

Guests at the awards ceremony also greatly enjoyed listening to a collection of talented string and wind musicians from Wycombe Music Centre, including the lively Adolphe Sax Quartet and the brothers Tom and Alex Aldren, who form an agile string duet. Finally, the award ceremony was rounded off with a toast to the Wycombe District by the Lord Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire, Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher.
