Chitty Takes Barbara On A Fantasmagorical Journey

Barbara Evered was the winner of our Chitty Chitty Bang Bang raffle and, as promised, Barbara and members of her familiy were treated to an unforgettable trip in the world's most famous car on Sunday 26th August 2007.  The original 2 ton, 17 foot long car complete with its "GENII" number plate which featured in the 1967 film visited Tring with her owner, Pierre Picton, and took Barbara on a fantasmagorical journey out into the Tring countryside via Aldbury and then returning to Church Square in Tring for a photocall with local children and residents.  We understand that, on this occasion, Chitty did not take to the skies or cruise on Tring Reservoirs, but Barbara and her guests enjoyed their trip none the le less.

The IRHH would like to thank Rob and Anna Alderton and Rob's best man, Ian Gower, for allowing us to hijack Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which had been booked specially for their wedding day.  Thanks to their generosity, we were able to "borrow" Chitty for an hour before their wedding took place later the same day in Tring.  We wish them both every happiness. More about Pierre Picton's original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang can be found at www.chittygen11.com.
