Gadebridge Park in Hemel Hempstead was the place to be on Sunday 26th August! The park gradually filled with an array of colourful stalls and attractions and from 12 noon people rolled up to enjoy all the fun of a traditional fete. The Mayor of Dacorum officially opened proceedings at 12.30 and the main arena programme began with entertainment provided by Country singer Jed, the Dogs 4 Us Display team, Streetwise Martial arts and the Saturn Supreme Majorettes. The Fun Dog Show, kindly sponsored by Eastcote Aquaria and Pets, proved popular attracting 150 entries. The arena was packed for some of the most popular classes including most handsome dog, prettiest bitch and the dog the judge would most like to take home. Some of the classes were judged by the Mayor and local MP Mike Penning and with so many stunning dogs none of the decisions were easy. The show culminated with K9 Games of Fastest Sausage Eater and Musical Mats. IRHH are grateful to Martin Crowhurst for organising the day and to Direct for security, marshalling and first aid cover. Also to our many volunteers and sponsors. The fete and dog show have raised in the region of £1000. |
