My skydive experience was absolutely fantastic!!

"I've wanted to do a tandem skydive for ages so when I heard IRHH were looking for volunteers I jumped at the chance! I did it bright & early on a gloriously clear sunny morning last November – actually it was Remembrance Day!  I didn't feel nervous at all as the instructors were very thorough & really made you feel safe – despite their jokes to the contrary!  Once we got to 12,000 feet we all left the plane in very quick succession so there was no time for last minute nerves.  In freefall we covered 7,000 feet in 40 seconds, reaching 120mph!  But my stomach didn't lurch, I could still breathe, & I even managed a wave for the cameraman!  I was desperately trying to savour every second, but it passed far too quickly.  When the parachute was deployed it was suddenly completely quiet & without looking at the ground it felt as if I was just hanging in mid-air.  The view was fantastic & I wanted the ride to last forever!  Sadly it was only another 4-5 minutes before we gently touched down on solid ground.  I was grinning from ear to ear & my first question was “can I do it again please!”

The jump itself was an amazing experience, but even more amazing is the fact that in doing it I raised over £1,600 for IRHH, which will increase to over £1,900 once they have been able to claim the gift aid!

I will have to wait until June 3rd to do another skydive when I take part in the special IRHH Jump Day which I'm really looking forward to.  I've already got several work colleagues, relatives & neighbours willing to join me – anybody else fancy it?"
