Celebrities with Buckets


On Saturday 20th January, Rennie Bear was joined by 20 volunteer collectors and IRHH patrons, Wendy Craig, Bill Turnbull, Eric Knowles and Bill Giles at a special fundraising event at WWFC ground Adams Park .  There was a bucket collection which raised £900.  Special little Rennie Bears sporting WWFC supporter rosettes were sold and there was a van on hand to collect bags of rags.

“It was very cold but sunny and great fun” Head of Community Fundraising, Liz Clarke told us.  Rennie Bear reported that  “It was a great day.  Everyone was very friendly and I met lots of generous supporters.”

It was the second time that Ada ms Park had hosted a Rags2Riches event.  IRHH are paid £2.80 for every black bin bag full of old rags.  They raised £20,000 in 2006 in this way.  If anyone missed the Rags2Riches events they can still take their bags of rags into any IRHH shop
