David Moss celebrates his 60th birthday on a bike

On Sunday 17th June, David Moss was one of around 27,000 cyclists who turned out to take part in the 54 mile cycle ride from London to Brighton . Here is David's story:-

“ The London-to-Brighton Bike Ride took place this year on 17th June 2007 and I rode in it to celebrate my 60th Birthday (one week after the event) and to raise money for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. I am pleased to report that I covered the 54 miles in 3hrs 54min.  This was 15 min slower than when I did the ride 4 years ago but was accountable to increasing age, a light headwind and getting stopped at every traffic light on the final 3 miles into Brighton.

It was a good day for it, except for one torrential downpour at the 35 mile point.  However, by the time we got up the top of the killer hill at 47 miles, the skies had cleared and we had lovely downhill run for the last 7 miles into Brighton .  I RV'd with my road support party in Hove, a mile along the seafront, where I dunked my body (very briefly!) into the English Channel before having our picnic in the sun.”

David raised an amazing £1500 for his efforts. Well done David and a belated Happy Birthday from all at IRHH.
