Football for All and over £850 for IRHH

IRHH Volunteer David Coles in action

The entire Hoar family (all 8 of them) and their friends from Kings Church Amersham Football Club ran a very successful football tournament for all ages and abilities at Barn Meadow in Old Amersham on the afternoon of Sunday 25th March. The event was held in memory of Liz Lipka and was attended by her husband Lawrence and son Joe who is a regular player in the Under 16's team.

The marathon football matches took place over 3 hours with one adult match and two games for the younger players. Everyone made a donation to participate in the football and funds were further boosted by an ENORMOUS cake stall, a barbeque, bouncy castle, face painting, a raffle, plus popcorn and bric-a-brac sales.

Mum Marilyn manned the cake stall, Dad Peter played in and coordinated the match, daughter Donna was the main event organiser whilst sister Sherrie ran the raffle, Darrell and Martin organised the games for the younger players, David (15) played for the whole 3 hours and Christine (7) lent a hand wherever required and was delighted to win a prize after spending her pocket money on raffle tickets.

IRHH are grateful to everyone involved in raising this impressive total.

Thank you to David Grover of GE Healthcare for several of the photos appearing here. Thank you also to Amersham Town Council who allowed the organisers to use the facilities free of charge
