Parents from Haresfoot School held a fabulous Bollywood style ball on Saturday 24th March. The school hall was decorated tent style with colourful fabrics, golden statues, a huge backdrop of the Taj Mahal, a plasma screen showing Bollywood movies and a shisha corner with cushions and low tables for chilling out. All 130 guests dressed in vibrant Indian outfits - saris, sherwanis, nehru jackets and turbans - and danced the night away to music specially selected by the Bollywood DJ. A delicious 3 course Indian meal was provided by The Shaad at Aston Clinton. After the raffle and auction guests were surprised and delighted by the belly dancing and the Indian snake charmer who worked her magic on the basket. Guests were then invited to ‘stroke' the (very large) snake out in the foyer! All in all, it was a very successful and entertaining evening put together by a very creative parents committee which raised around £5,500, half of which will come to IRHH. |
