The Buck opens for another year

Philip Hedges from Buckland village, near Aston Clinton, and his team of local villagers opened ‘The Buck Pub' for another Whitsun May Bank Holiday weekend.

The residents of Buckland village converted their beautiful beamed village hall into a pub for the entire Bank Holiday weekend, from 11am on Friday morning until Monday evening. Villagers took it in turns to serve a full range of drinks from the bar or hearty home-cooked food from the kitchen.

The county of Bucks experienced the wettest weather in the country over the weekend, however many people turned out for a cheeky pint and a yummy lunch and to catch up with friends. It was a shame customers couldn't enjoy the lovely garden.

IRHH were delighted to see Philip when he popped in the Tring office this week with a cheque for £1,560, which is 50% of the proceeds from the pub weekend. The remaining 50% of the profits will support the local church.

As always, a few of the IRHH staff went along to the pub for a wonderful lunch. Thanks to the supporters of Buckland village for all their efforts and fundraising support.
