The 2008 edition of Rhyme and Reason was launched in style on National Poetry Day |
On Thursday 4th October the Rhyme and Reason Fundraising Group gathered together with friends, family and supporters at Beaconsfield library to launch the 17th edition of their book. Tony Buzan of ‘mind mapping' fame kicked off the proceedings with a few words and a selection of poems from the book.
Rhyme and Reason is an anthology of short stories, poems and articles by new and established writers, all of its proceeds are donated to IRHH. This year the group ran a hugely successful schools competition where children entered their poems into a prize draw. Those that were selected have been printed in this year's edition of Rhyme and Reason and we were lucky enough to have a number of them come along to the launch and read out their poems.
£315 was made on the evening and Rhyme and Reason were delighted to see so many people there! We would to thank all people involved for their help and support and we look forward to another successful year of fundraising.
Rhyme and Reason is the perfect Christmas present or stocking filler so please come along to The Gerrards Cross bookshop on Saturday 1 st December where Geoffrey Palmer will be signing the new edition. If this date is not convenient for you there is another opportunity to get your copy of Rhyme and Reason on Saturday 15 th December at WH Smith, Beaconsfield where Bill Turnbull will signing.
