Villagers from Dagnall and beyond were treated to a French evening with French wine, fabulous French food and even some French lessons.

Pascale Searle (originally from Belgium ) organised this special treat, sourcing all her food from a trip to France and personally baking all the scrumptious tarte tatins that followed French Onion soup and assiette froide with jambon, saucisson and fromage.

Guests were accompanied by accordion music and divided into teams for a competition in French.

The venue, Dagnall Village Hall, was beautifully decked out with French flags, posters and ephemera with waitresses and many of the guests sporting berets and French attire, rather like a scene from ‘Allo ‘Allo!
