A Fascinating Talk, a VERY large cheque and your chance to participate in a trip to Great Dixter |
Fergus Garret, Head Gardener at Great Dixter, entertained a packed audience of horticultural enthusiasts at Coleshill Village Hall on 22nd February. Fergus worked alongside the great Christopher Lloyd and he shares the same enthusiasm for interesting colour use of colour. Even pink and yellow can look great together in the right setting!
The event was organised by our High Wycombe and Amersham Fundraising group who prepared a delicious light supper for all the guests. The group presented a huge cheque for a spectacular £18,000 to retiring Chief Executive Rowena Dean. The cheque was the proceeds of a busy programme of events plus donations received by the group. The look on Rowena's face says it all really!
Rowena was herself presented with a farewell gift by Group Members, many of whom have just like Rowena supported IRHH for 20 years or more. The bag of compost presented by Bill Giles was later accompanied by a beautiful pink camelia!
A special outing, to Great Dixter, exclusive to IRHH supporters, is being organised for 25th September. It will be a full day trip by coach, including a welcome by Fergus followed by a guided tour of the house and gardens. Tickets are £22.50.
