The Bootleg Blues Brothers Hit Berkhamsted

The evening of Sunday 13th March was certainly one enjoyed by over 250 people who attended the Bootleg Blues Brothers gig at Berkhamsted Collegiate School in aid of the Pepper Foundation which supports the IRHH's Pepper paediatric nurses.

Masterminded by Pepper patron, Joe Collier of Eastwoods, the evening began with a spectacular barbeque. As well as the traditional, but excellent, sausages from Eastwoods the famous butchers. there were more exotic delights including risotto and Caribbean pork to be enjoyed alongside an array of salads.

Following on from this gastronomic treat, came an evening of lively music. The show kicked off with a Busted tribute band followed by support band “Shout” from Daventry. Shout were newcomers to IRHH/Pepper events but it looks as if they may well be back to support us again in future. Nick, the lead singer from Shout, commented “ Shout really enjoyed playing last night and would like to thank all of you for the opportunity to play at such a worthwhile event.”

“We were nervous to start with but quickly realised that the crowd were getting behind us and were enjoying themselves, so it turned out to be a great night for everyone concerned, including for us!”

The evening culminated with the appearance on stage of our much-loved friends, Jake & Elwood, the famous Blues Brothers  along with with guests from the Commitments, Joe Collier and the Iain Rennie Hospice At Home's very own Rennie Bear! . The performance was buzzing, entertaining and lots of FUN!

Over £2,200 was raised towards funding the Pepper paediatric nursing team, making the occasion successful as well as highly enjoyable.
