Dacorum Mayor to support IRHH

The Mayor of the Borough of Dacorum, Councillor Derek Townsend has resolved to support the Iain Rennie Hospice At Home during his year in office. Having seen the amazing work done by the nurses in Dacorum at first hand he says

"I was shocked to learn that the Iain Rennie Hospice At Home is struggling to raise an extra £100,000 in the coming year to meet the growing need for its service. I had no hesitation in deciding to do everything that I can to support them during my year as Mayor. It is vital that we raise enough money to ensure that this wonderful organisation is always around to offer practical nursing care to all patients and families who have to cope with the realities of terminal illness each year.

The Iain Rennie Hospice At Home is very much a local charity and, as I write, the teams of nurses based here in Dacorum are caring for over 70 patients who have chosen to remain at home during the final chapter of their lives.

None of us know what the future holds for us, but we can do something now that will make an immediate difference.

So please help me to raise the £25,000 needed to pay for an Iain Rennie Nurse to work in our local communities. One nurse can do so much and, with your help, I am confident that I can achieve my goal."
