IRHH Ambassadors

Our Ambassadors raise public awareness of our work by speaking to media, groups, companies and other organisations, and representing IRHH throughout the community in which our nurses operate.  They are very happy to attend meetings, or present speeches to groups of any size - whether it's a local organisation such as WI, Rotary Club, Round Table or U3A, employees at a company, a school, or just a group of friends.

Russell Brown

With his experience in sales over the past nine years working for an IT company in Luton, Russell is well qualified in talking to people and hopes to increase interest and awareness of our valuable service by meeting as many people as possible.  Russell lives in Wigginton with his partner Lorna.

Philip Dawson

"Having been diagnosed with stomach cancer my mother was obviously filled with gloom and anxiety. This changed when we met her Iain Rennie nurse, as the inspiration, love and support the nurse gave was a wonderful tonic to everyone. Previously unaware of IRHH, I just wanted to associate myself with such a supportive and caring service and hopefully spread the word to others. As an Ambassador, it is by far the most fulfilling role I have ever undertaken. My background in training helped me , but I have found it is easy to deliver messages that I thoroughly believe in and that come from the heart. "

Brian Fowler

"I am privileged to join such a caring and innovative organisation. The medical excellence provided by the nursing team during the last months of my wife Mary's life meant that she was able to be with those that she loved, and who loved her, with all the dignity, support and attention that she would have received in a hospital or bedded hospice, comfortable in the surroundings of her own home. We, as her family, were able to ensure that she enjoyed the best possible quality of life with the confidence of knowing that we had specialist nurses, and carers, of the highest calibre working with our GP and District Nurse, on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and that the service was free to Mary and her family."

Book a talk!

We have several volunteer ambassadors - confident public speakers with an in-depth knowledge of the charity - who can provide talks to clubs, societies and organisations. If you have a diary slot to fill and think your members would like to hear about this service in the heart of your community - or if your company or club is considering a Charity of the Year relationship - then our ambassadors can provide an introductory talk to help your members or colleagues make an informed decision.
