Frequently Asked Questions

How many lights can I have? You may sponsor as many lights as you wish. Most people choose to Light Up a Life in memory of a friend or relative or as a gift to someone who has lost someone special to them.

Are all the events held outdoors? Yes

What happens if the weather is poor? Our services will take place whatever the weather so please dress warmly and wear practical shoes.

Can I choose a light on the tree? No, we do not name individual lights although they do represent those who are dear to us and may no longer be with us.

Is the dedication a Christian service? The Light Up a Life services are non-denominational but do involve a prayer, bible reading and Christmas carols.

Is there anywhere to sit? Not usually. Each service only lasts around 20 minutes. If you have special requirements please contact us and we will assist wherever possible.

Are refreshments available after the services? Refreshments will be served after all IRHH organised dedication services except for Hemel Hempstead.

Will my dedication be read out at the service, or displayed at the tree? The only service at which dedications are read out is the service at Prestwood; if you wish to have your dedication read out please contact Pam Sitford on 01494 862439. The only tree at which names will be displayed is the tree at Princes Risborough; if you wish to have a name displayed please contact David Griggs on 01844 345554 or Malcolm Barker on 01844 344554.
