British 10K London Run 2009

The British 10K London Run 2009 was held on Sunday 12th July and was another great success with all of our team finishing with excellent times. The day saw perfect weather conditions with some sunshine and a slight breeze. There was a fantastic atmosphere, and our runners thoroughly enjoyed the experience of seeing the London sights on foot.

Elizabeth and Emily Morley

Sisters, Elizabeth and Emily Morley enjoyed the day and finished in 57 minutes and 1 hour 1 minute respectively. Elizabeth told us: 'We had personal experience of IRHH's amazing work a couple of years ago when a close family member was diagnosed with cancer and, as a small way of saying thank you for their support and to help them continue their good work, we decided to take part in the British 10K London run. It was the first time either of us had completed a 10k but I think we may now both have the running bug!'

Lisa Pitt raised over £500 in sponsorship, she told us that she supported IRHH: 'to say thank you for the help and care that they gave to my Grandad (John Tyler), and the support they are still providing for my Nan since he passed away recently. I told my Grandad that I would do a run to raise money for Iain Rennie a few days before he died and he was delighted. Both Nan and Grandad always spoke highly of all the nurses, which gave comfort to not only them, but the rest of the family too.'

The event has so far raised £1000 which is a great result - well done to all of our runners!

Join our B10K Team in 2010!

If you would like to join the team in 2010, the next British 10K London Run will take place in the heart of historic central London on Sunday 11th July 2010 and Iain Rennie will be entering a team in this popular race which will take runners past central London 's world famous historic landmarks.
