Music for a Summer Evening

Penn House (by kind permission of Lord & Lady Howe) was the beautiful setting for a delightful evening of music, song and supper.

The superb soprano voice of ANNA LEESE a young New Zealander, filled the lovely Music Room of Penn House with a wide variety of arias, German lullabys, songs by Walton and the lighter "I could have danced all night" from "My Fair Lady". "Summertime" was another new song in this incredibly talented singers repetoire.

The accomplished and fun-loving JOHN GIBBONS accompanied Anna on the piano and he and his talented wife ROWENA played stunning piano/keyboard duets. A delicious meal was served by the High Wycombe and Amersham Fundraising Committee, and those who attended were fulsome in their praise for a super evening.

Anna is singing in Italy this week and then flies to New Zealand for a series of high profile concerts in Australia and New Zealand this summer, returning to sing in La Boheme at the Royal Opera House in September.
