Tring Midsummer Fun Run - Star Fun Run Fundraiser!

Kieran Clark, aged 8, from Dundale School (Tring) has raised an impressive £300 in sponsorship for the Tring Midsummer Fun Run 2008.  This is the largest amount of sponsorship that has been raised this year and so Kieran has received a special 'Star Fundraiser Award' to mark his achievement.  Kieran loves the Tring Fun Run and this year was his 3rd year of taking part in the competition, he ran in the U9's race this time and is really looking forward to moving up into the U11's category next year.

IRHH were delighted that Kieran raised so much money and as a result of his fundraising has decided to hold a 'Star Fundraiser' competition for the Tring Fun Run 2009.  When asked how he raised his money Kieran replied that he had had help from friends and family and that it was 'all in a day's work'.  Thank you very much Kieran and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

Details of next years race will be posted here in the New Year.

Rennie Bear and Graham Poll
The 8th Tring Midsummer Fun Run held on Wednesday 18th June was attended by crowds of people at the Tring Park Cricket Club with a record 701 runners taking part in this year's event!

There was a wide mix of children and adults of all ages taking part from schools across the Tring and surrounding area.  There were 6 race categories ranging from U7's to Seniors with the U7's running a 500m lap on the club grounds and the Seniors running a 6Km circuit around Tring.

Local premiership football referee, Graham Poll started each race and handed out medals to the winners along with Mike James, the Mayor of Tring and of course Rennie Bear who cheered the children on! Despite the windy weather the runners were undeterred and the day was a huge success thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make this event a success particularly the IRHH volunteers who managed to control the enormous queues of people waiting to register on the night – well done!
