Jumpers Wanted! Join Sue Varvel in July
Sue Varvel, Director of Nursing for The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, has signed up to take part in the IRHH sponsored parachuting day on 6th July 2008 and is currently preparing herself to jump from 10,000 feet in a tandem skydive from Weston Airfield, near Bicester.
Since raising money for The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home in 2006 following a challenging trek across the Inca Trail in Peru, Sue has now set her sights even higher: "I have always loved flying and have been interested in parachute jumping for several years but nerves and timing have always got the better of me in the past. This is a great opportunity to achieve a personal goal and at the same time fundraise for the organisation I have worked for for the last 20 years! It will be a challenge for me personally but will be another experience to add to the list!"
Sue adds: "It is a great privilege to work for an organisation which provides such an important service to patients in our area and I look forward to significantly adding to the fundraising pot to help support the service into the future."
