Chilterns Open Gardens

Tring & Wigginton July 2008

Around £2,500 was raised by the wonderful gardeners and our supporters in Tring and Wigginton on two successive Sundays this month. From the small but perfectly formed cottage gardens within the Tring Triangle, to the sweeping views in Wigginton there was plenty of variety as well as a warm welcome for all our visitors.

The Open Garden scheme has been a huge success for Iain Rennie this summer raising a total of almost £36,000 including a very generous donation from an anonymous benefactor at the Beaconsfield open gardens. Thank you to all who have put in so much work to this event, and to everyone who visited the gardens and contributed to this fantastic total.

Commonwood, nr Chipperfield Saturday 5th July 2008

Huge thanks to the overwhelming number of supporters for the stunning total of over £3,000 raised in aid of IRHH on Saturday. Visitors flocked to admire 6 acres of beautiful gardens, gorgeous views, listen to Jazz band TOAD, and enjoy tea on the lawns. We owe a huge thank you to our hosts as well as their many helpers and our usual super-volunteers for Iain Rennie.

Tring Sunday 22nd June

Huge thanks to the owners of the three gardens open in Tring last weekend . Terrier's End, Myrtle Cottage in Bulbourne and Louisa cottages all offered their visitors tea, cakes and hospitality as well as the chance to look round their varied and beautiful gardens. In all they raised £2,590 thanks to the generosity of their supporters and visitors.

Chesham Sunday 15th June

Brian Mace and his family generously opened their garden at Brymar in Chesham on Sunday, raising around £600 from their visitors. Many thanks to Brian and his family for the huge amount of work, and the very interesting history of Brymar which Brian shared with us.

Askett Sunday 8th June

Huge thanks to the overwhelming number of supporters for the stunning total of over £4.5K raised in aid of The IRHH Open Garden Scheme last Sunday . What a marvelous team, and a wonderful success! Askett is SUCH a great hamlet and was at its picturesque best in the idyllic weather on Sunday when eight of its residents opened their gardens to the public in aid of the hospice.

Wendover Sunday 25th May

Many thanks to the hardworking Wendover gardeners who raised an impressive £1,200 despite the rain. And a special thanks to their loyal supporters who turned out despite the unpromising weather and chased the clouds away to enjoy a great afternoon out in Wendover.

Beaconsfield

Inspired Beaconsfield gardeners put on a spectacular show over four consecutive Sundays and raised the unbelievable total of over £10,000 by opening 16 beautiful gardens to the public. Thank you so much!

A stunningly successful day last Sunday in Beaconsfield resulted in over £3,000 raised for Iain Rennie. A designer garden featuring contemporary sculptures, a truly amazing produce sale as well as vintage tractors, Pimms and many other attractions ensured the success of the third weekend of Beaconsfield Open Gardens, with the last one on 1st June, don't miss it! The village of Wendover also opened seven of its gardens on the 25th and was very well attended despite the rain by loyal supporters and keen gardeners. Tea and cakes, plants and other sales at a variety of large, small and medium sized gardens helped them reach a terrific total of over £1,200 and everyone enjoyed a real community spirit.
