Raj Patel's 7 Continents,
7 Marathons Challenge

IRHH supporter Raj Patel has completed his ambitious challenge of completing 7 marathons across 7 continents.  He has finally returned from his travels across the globe where he has been representing IRHH in his bright purple IRHH running vest.

His journey started in 2004 when he completed the London Marathon then 3 years later he decided to embark on another 6 Marathons across the world!  His travels took him to the Antarctic Ice Marathon in December 2007 where he and a group of fellow travellers assisted William Tan from Singapore to complete the First Wheelchair Marathon in Antarctica .  Following his icy marathon he travelled to steamy Mumbai (India) for his next Marathon in January 2008, next he went to the Kilimanjaro Marathon in Tanzania in March 2008 for Marathon number four.  He then travelled to North America for the Atlanta Marathon, Chile for the Santiago Marathon and finally completed his tour in Australia at the Canberra Marathon in April 2008.

Many thanks to Raj for representing Iain Rennie Hospice at Home across the continents and for raising an impressive £1259 in sponsorship money - well done Raj!

Raj is currently applying to the Guinness World Records to be the youngest person to have completed 7 marathons in 7 continents - so we wish him the best of luck with that.
