Buckland Villagers Pub Weekend
Despite some atrocious weekend weather, villagers in Buckland were kept busy serving up drinks and delicious home-cooked food as they transformed the village hall into a traditional family pub. The Whitsun weekend pub has operated for a number of years in Buckland. This year Tony and Margaret Penn took over the organisation, run for a number of years previously by fellow villager, Phil Hedges. "The Buck" is very much a team operation though involving many of the residents with the catering over the impressive 4 day event. Some of the IRHH team visited over the weekend and enjoyed tasty treats including roast lamb, chicken casserole and sausage and mash. This year IRHH received a donation of £1640 from the proceeds with the local church receiving an equal sum.
