Vital equipment donated to IRHH nursesNurses from IRHH were delighted to accept the gift of a syringe driver from local group, Penn & Tylers Green Village Care, on 1st May 2008. Peter Sachs, Margaret Larder and Mary O'Hare from the group met with the nurses to hear at first hand about the care they provide and to hand over the syringe driver which can deliver small, regular doses of medication to patients who need to keep symptoms such as pain or anxiety under careful control. Nurses from the Chalfont St Giles teams often use syringe drivers to improve the quality of life for people with a terminal illness.
Sue Wright, Nursing Team Leader for the Wycombe & South Bucks teams said, "With a growing number of patients needing our help, an extra syringe driver will be invaluable in helping us to provide the best possible care for patients. The units cost over £800 and are worth every penny as they really help to keep patients' troubling symptoms at bay. We're really grateful to Penn & Tylers Green Village Care for donating the new syringe driver."
