Patricia Joyce took part in a sponsored Skydive from Bicester airfield on the 20th September 2008 in memory of her brother Tommy Keegan who was cared for by Iain Rennie Nurses. She raised a fantastic £1,248 which was raised through the support of managers and staff at Hemel Hempstead sorting office as well as the committee and members of Hemel Hempstead Irish association. Patricia presented the cheque to Suzanne McKay from the IRHH Dacorum nursing team at the Irish Association dance.
After losing my brother and other members of my family to cancer I decided to do something positive so I did a sponsored parachute jump. All the money raised went to the Iain Rennie nurses at home charity. From the start of my family's illnesses right up until the end, the Iain Rennie nurses were there, not just for the patients but for all the other members of the family with help and advise for any questions or problems we had.
They were just at the end of a phone and into your house in minutes when needed. They still keep in touch with everybody even after the family member passed away. We called them our angels, for what they do is truly amazing and this is my way of thanking them.
Patricia is considering jumping again next year so watch this space!
