John Motson Picks Superdraw Winner
The result was not in doubt (it was a draw!) when BBC Sport's "Voice of Football", John Motson, drew the winning ticket for the top prize in the Hospice Lottery's 2008 Superdraw making Mr J A Cook of Aylesbury £5,000 richer. The lucky winner was not at home when John called them with news of their win, but they can look forward to a unique good-news message on their answering machine from the football legend when they return home!
The draw took place at Grove House Hospice in St Albans on Wednesday 10th September and nurses and day care patients joined "Motty" and the Mayor of St Albans helped to create 63 lucky winners by drawing tickets from the Superdraw drum. Superdraw has raised £84,000 for the seven participating hospices including the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.
