Terry's Tournament - an ace fundraiser!

The courts at Halton Tennis Club were packed on Saturday 6th September as Terry McGrath held his annual tournament, this time in aid of IRHH.  48 players took part in "Terry's Tournament", which was completed on schedule despite a couple of heavy downpours during the afternoon, and the event raised a "smashing" total of £1968.

After a hectic day's tennis, the players re-convened at the clubhouse in the evening for a 3 course meal, attended by IRHH representatives Linda Petrons and Stephen Biggs . The Club found many ways of raising money.  The tournament itself raised £1000, with a further £214 from the raffle, and £425 from an auction, which included a game of mixed doubles with the Club's coaches and County players.  Terry made a speech during the dinner, which unbeknown to him, was also being used as a sweepstake, with guests estimating the length of Terry's speech.  This raised a further £254.

IRHH are grateful to Terry for choosing to raise money for IRHH this year, and to Halton Tennis Club for their continued support.
