Great Missenden Baptist Church boosts funds for Memorial Woodland

Members of Great Missenden Baptist Church packed a fundraising punch at the village's Dickensian Evening on Saturday November 28th, in support of the IRHH Wendover Memorial Woodland. Church members chose IRHH as one of their Christmas charities.

Helped by the minister, the Rev Dr Philip Egglestone, they set up a stall at the popular Dickensian evening, selling drinks of non-alcoholic fruit punch and taking donations. Their efforts raised a terrific £287.90 towards the woodland project.

IRHH partnership fundraiser Linda Petrons was invited to the church the following day to explain plans for the Memorial Woodland, for which planting will begin next year, on Saturday February 6 and Saturday February 13. Linda said: 'I was made very welcome by church members, who are great supporters of the work of Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. Every gift in support of the Memorial Woodland will help to meet the growing need for the Iain Rennie nursing service, which like the woodland will grow and develop for many years to come.'
