On a slightly inclement June day, several keen female tennis payers met at Tring Tennis Club for a Ladies Doubles Tournament in aid of IRHH. Under Julie Turner's enthusiastic organisation, the event raised an impressive £745, continuing on from the success of the same event in 2008. Undeterred by the weather, some excellent tennis was played and enjoyed by all who signed up for the event. With PIMMs on offer, as well as a clothes and jewellery sale, there was plenty to keep the ladies warm and occupied.
The winners of the tournament were Gertruud Van Dijken and Rosemary Woodward Court; the runners up, Carol Ball and Bev Casey and the plate winners were Ella Hammond and Hazel Heppell. Congratulations to them all and well done to everyone who turned up on the day, whose support is very much appreciated by all at IRHH.
