Wet Weather Doesn't Deter Open Garden Visitors

Despite the inclement weather, 4 linked but individually unique gardens opened in Miswell Lane in Tring during the first weekend of June and raised a brilliant £308 for IRHH. Cherry Fryer and neighbours worked hard to ensure that their gardens looked their best for the visitors and by all accounts, those looking around were not disappointed.

With many beautiful flowers, including an abundance of majestic poppies and towering delphiniums, manicured lawns and unusual features, including a selection of gnomes, there was certainly plenty for visitors to admire and enjoy. Having enjoyed their visit to the gardens, Helena and Peter Holliday said that the gardens were 'four little gems; one designed with an element of fun, one for relaxing in, another with interesting individual plants and one with productive herb and vegetable plots. They are an inspiration to anyone with a small garden'. Helena added that the gardens were 'true examples of personal paradises'.

Jo Neale. Community Fundraiser, went along to view the gardens and to take some photos, commenting that 'these were very interesting gardens tucked away with surprises hidden in every corner! There were beautiful allotments and very friendly garden owners with excellent cream teas.' Apparently the flapjacks on offer were also delicious.

IRHH would like to thank Cherry and her friends for opening their gardens and for raising such a great amount of money in the process. Their enthusiasm obviously wasn't dampened by the weather!
