Following a daring trek across the Great Wall of China in 2008, intrepid IRHH supporter Heather Travis travelled to Cuba to take part in a 5 day trek in the Escambray mountains for between 6 to 7 hours a day, passing farms, coffee plantations and fruit plantations. The terrain was undulating and in parts tough-going but with amazing views and tropical waterfalls it was well worth the effort, before leaving Heather told us: 'We are completing a total of 75 kilometres in the 5 days and for 2 nights we are sleeping either under the stars or under the eaves of a hacienda which should prove interesting!'
Heather covered all the costs for the trip herself and raised a fabulous £934.74 in sponsorship for Iain Rennie Heather explained 'I have chosen to support the Iain Rennie Hospice At Home as I have a number of friends and acquaintances, both young and old, who have benefited from Iain Rennie's services and I am supporting this charity to aid their continued excellent work.' Thank you very much Heather, we look forward to seeing where your travels take you in the future!
