Almost 100 people warmed St Andrew's Church, Chinnor at the end of October for a lovely evening of chamber music, provided by the Dore Ensemble and which included music for harp, flute and string quartet. Old favourites and some new arrangements provided a lovely balance for the enthusiastic audience.
Heather Ballard, IRHH nurse, not only organised the event but joined musicians from the BBC Symphony Orchestra for the Mozart string Quintet in G minor and said that she 'felt privileged to be part of the evening'.
Heather received help from several IRHH supporters, including Betty Yendell and Bill Giles , who, as usual, added a lovely touch with his compering as he announced IRHHs own Ruth Fretton as the first prize winner in the raffle, of 2 tickets to see the BBC Symphony Orchestra play at the Barbican Centre, London.
Heather would like to thank everyone who supported the event which raised over £1300 for IRHH. Our thanks go to Heather for organising the evening and for encouraging members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra to support us in this way.
