Queens Park Quilters' Christmas Treat
On 7th October Liz Clarke visited the Queens Park Arts Centre in Aylesbury to meet Jean Twyford and her group of quilters. Liz was presented with a stunning quilt in festive greens, golds and red that had been lovingly crafted by the group in memory of former member Carol Copcutt who died in May 2008. Carol had been a very popular and active member of the group, described as a "real character, full of enthusiasm". Carol was cared for by the Iain Rennie Nurses in the final stages of her life.
All 15 group members had contributed a block within the quilt and the pieces were then meticulously assembled into the finished article by Jean over the summer.
