Wake up to IRHH! Broadcasting legend Sir Terry Wogan told seven million Radio 2 listeners about the work of IRHH on his breakfast show last Monday (5th October). Click here to listen to the clip.
Adam Ridgway, who is currently doing a grand job as our IT department, met the presenter outside the Methodist Church in Buckingham Street, Aylesbury. Adam and friends Laura, Marc and Dan talked briefly to Sir Terry about the nursing service that IRHH provide in the local area, and how the local PCT only fund 12% of the charity's annual costs.
Adam said: "We met Terry as he came out of the Church after a charity function. He was very pleasant and shook our hands. We asked for a photo, and he warned us that it would ruin our street cred but we were just happy to meet a broadcasting legend like Sir Terry. We celebrated by having extra sauce and cheese on our kebabs! I emailed Terry's show the next day to ask him to give IRHH a plug, and it was fantastic that he remembered us."
Sir Terry also mentioned on his show how Adam and his pals were a credit to the young people of today, who generally receive bad press. Good work Adam - you never know who you might meet on a night out!
