Visitors flock to Santa's GrottoVisitors flocked to a Christmas wonderland at Penn Flower Nursery during December and donated a fantastic £909 to IRHH. The donations received more than doubled the £426 raised in 2008.
Created by Mick Penn, this 74ft Grotto is a truly magical Christmas wonderland, complete with illuminated and mechanical Christmas and winter themed items. New for this year was 'Iain' a magnificent 7ft polar bear, named after Iain Rennie, who greeted visitors on entry. The polar bear was kindly donated to IRHH by a Hemel Hempstead based company last year and was promptly offered to Mick for inclusion in his Grotto. Mick was only too pleased to give him a good home and we are told that he was a popular hit with visitors, both young and old.

Father Christmas found time in his busy schedule to visit the Grotto to welcome and chat with young visitors on weekend afternoons. He was certainly kept busy with a constant flow of excited youngsters.
Joanne Hunt, Community Fundraiser has commented 'Having experienced how magical this Christmas wonderland is, I would definitely recommend a visit. For those who have yet to experience the Grotto, look out for details later this year and do take the children - it is well worth a trip.'
IRHH would like to thank Mick and his family for their continued support and for choosing to raise funds for us in this way.
